With over 30 years' experience, Island Furniture Design specialise in bespoke, high end, unique furniture design and manufacture. 

Established by David Penrose in 1990 on Eel Pie Island in Twickenham, at Island Furniture Design, we have built our reputation based on providing high-end unique furniture tailored to the specific needs of our clients.

Our business moved to our current location on Twickenham Green in 1996. Our customers can comfortably rely on our experience and skills to produce fine quality, high end furniture working to clients' briefs and budgets. We personally take care of every step of your commissions from initial discussions through computer aided designs and manufacture to installation.

All work is undertaken in our Twickenham premises where, upon appointment you are welcome and encouraged to come and view your pieces during production. 

Bespoke furniture commissions

For our private clients we provide a complete service from design to manufacture and installation. Upon your enquiry we will arrange a meeting, preferably on-site, when we will discuss your needs and ideas, along with potential types of materials and finishes. Hand drawn sketches may also be done at this stage.

Following our initial meeting we will prepare a quotation for your consideration. Providing the costings are acceptable, we then provide computer designs which depict your commission in its desired setting. They are to scale and accurately describe the piece, giving you a clear vision of the project. Once the designs are to your satisfaction we will provide any necessary samples and schedule the work. At this stage we request a 50% deposit to begin manufacture, with the balance payable upon completion of your commission.
